We are a full service estate planning law firm based in West Columbia, Lexington County, South Carolina. We strive to prepare documents that protect you, your loved ones, and your last wishes in an accessible, affordable, and approachable manner.

What Do You Offer?

We offer preparation and signing of wills, Power of Attorney forms and Healthcare Power of Attorney forms, in-home, in-office, or in-wherever you are! We come to you.

How Does It Work?

Our process is three steps:

1. First, an introductory call where we discuss the types of documents that we offer and your unique needs. Based on the type of document, we will discuss specifics requirements for each (such as having full names for each person) and develop a plan that fits your needs. We will schedule a followup call during this meeting.

2. Second Call: During this call we will discuss the documents we have drafted for you. We will discuss any changes you would like to make, and confirm all the important things (think names, addresses) are correct. We will also schedule an in-person appointment where your documents will be completed.

3. Signing of documents: Now you’re ready to sign your documents. We will schedule an appointment to meet with you on your schedule, at a location that you choose.

Where Do We Sign the Documents?

This is completely up to you. We have met clients at their homes, hospitals, nursing homes, assisted living facilities, their workplace, a local coffee shop. Clients are also welcome to come to our West Columbia, Lexington County, South Carolina location to complete their documents.

Can I Just Come to Your Office?

Of course!

Can We Talk by Zoom Rather than On the Phone?

Certainly- our goal is to make the process easy and convenient.

What About Witnesses and Notaries?

Don’t sweat it! The Attorney can notarize the document. If you don’t have a friend, family member, coworker, or roommates who can be the witness, we can bring another staff member along.

How Is This Different than Those Legal Websites?

Making sure your property and family are protected when you pass away is one of most important things a person should do. Why trust this process to a website? You will have access to this Attorney by phone, email, and in-person throughout the process.

What Happens After I Sign the Documents?

Great question! Immediately after signed, the original will is given to the client along with a copy. No waiting! Power of Attorney forms and Healthcare Power of Attorney forms must be filed with the County where the client lives. You will be given a copy of the document immediately after signing, and the original will be delivered to you (either in person or mailed) to you as soon as it is filed and stamped with the County. Some counties allow same day filing, meaning you can have your filed document back within a few hours!

What Areas Do You Service?

We can prepare a will, power of attorney, or healthcare power of attorney for any South Carolina resident. We travel throughout the state of South Carolina, and can travel nationwide for South Carolina residents.

How Much Does It Cost?

All clients are quoted an estimated cost during the first phone call. Costs can vary, especially for wills, because it is all dependent on how complex and unique each persons last wishes are. The below are examples of fees for prior serves:

Will (in-home, Lexington County)

Estate divided equally between two adult children.

2 45-minute planning calls

Original and two copies provided at signing

TOTAL COST: $650

Will (in-nursing facility, Lexington County)

Estate divided between 10 grandchildren.

Real Estate given to specific individuals.

2-1 hour phone calls

Original and two copies provided at time of signing:

TOTAL COST $990

Power of Attorney and Healthcare Power of Attorney (in-home, Lexington County)

2 45-minute planning calls

Original document filed with County

Original document and copies delivered to Client

How do I schedule an appointment?

What if its an emergency and I need a rush on the document?

Same day will-preparation/signing is available. Same day power of attorney service is available, however, the documents must still be filed with the County. Some counties allow same day filing- meaning you could have the stamped original back same day!
